CHRISTmas

I am SO excited about our Christmas program this Sunday!  We've done a cantata the past few years, and integrated some short "plays" into it... but this year is different.  We are doing a cantata, but the whole "play" is about putting a Christmas play together.  So the narrator, (the director of the play) is asking for volunteers (people with scripted parts sitting in the audience) to be in the play.  She asks for someone to play the part of the Innkeeper.  She asks a man who immediately says he has no time for this, he has too much to do!  He is checking his emails, texting on his phone, doesn't have time for Christmas.  She asks for a lady to play the Innkeepers wife, and the woman she asks says, "oh no, not me!  you wouldn't want me to be in your play, you don't know the things i've done!"  This goes on and on, showing different people and their views on Christmas and God.  The director explains to each person how God DOES know them, wants to be involved in THEIR lives, etc.  It is a very powerful play!  Not a dry eye in practice tonight!  I hope we can all remember the true reason for Christmas, and not get so wrapped up in "things."  One of the main songs is the hymn "O love of God... How rich and pure! How marvelous, and strong!  It shall forevermore endure ~ the saints and angel's song!"   Another song talks about Jesus coming to earth as a helpless babe, and how His wisdom could not escape His tiny lips.... he left so much to be born in a lowly stable for ME!  and you!  Wow, so much to think on this season.... I pray I can keep my mind focused on what truly is important and somehow help others to do so as well.  Merry CHRISTmas!

Well, obviously, I haven't gotten off to a very good start! Maybe the Holiday season is not the best time to start yet ANOTHER project! But we'll see how well I do. Still new to the whole blogging thing; but I did finally figure out how to put a background on here! So today Bailey is home, he'll be home until after Thanksgiving break. At the moment, the girls are asleep, it is snowing outside, and I have my Christmas music on! I'm deep cleaning the house, getting ready for the 30 plus people that will be here for Thanksgiving next week. I absolutely love this time of year, even though it is so busy, it is so wonderful to be with friends and family. Stay warm! ;o*

Newbie!!

Well, this is my very first blog! I'm pretty excited to get this going, for so many reasons. One, to keep up with other friends and fellow bloggers! Two, as sort of an accountability thing! I figure if I put my thoughts out there, (if anyone is interested enough to read them!) then it makes me more accountable for the things I post. I've kept a journal off an on through the years, but honestly, I forget almost everything I write down. Not to mention, I forget where I even PUT the journal(s). So, this is a new adventure; and I'm excited to begin sharing my thoughts, however off the wall and crazy they may be! :)

First thought ~ Get out and VOTE if you haven't already!! Our nation is at a critical point and I am so very concerned for the future of my children, family and church. I know that God is in control, however, and whatever happens is in His will.

Hopefully will post more tomorrow! Good Night!
